
Lead Superintendent

Straticon is seeking an experienced Lead Superintendent to manage the day-to-day field operations of complex commercial construction projects. This position is responsible for driving project execution from mobilization through closeout, with direct accountability for safety, schedule, quality, and subcontractor performance. The Lead Superintendent serves as the senior field leader on site, coordinating closely with project management, owners, design teams, and inspectors to ensure work is performed in strict accordance with contract documents and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate brings at least 15 years of general contracting experience and a demonstrated record of successfully delivering high-quality projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Attend and lead all construction progress meetings. Participate in regular owner, subcontractor, and design meetings. Set measurable weekly and monthly goals. Anticipate and solve problems with a positive mindset and focus on solutions. Hold yourself to uncompromising standards, personally and professionally. Coach, mentor, and train all job site personnel. Seek out opportunities for continuous improvement; implement new strategies. Consistently build strong positive relationships with staff, inspectors, and subcontractors. Give ongoing feedback to field members. Provide input on field staff members annual review process activities when requested providing valuable feedback for establishing performance goals for the next year. Ensure project team and all subcontractors have developed and is implementing a site-specific safety plan. Establish and maintain good safety and security practices for the entire project in accordance with the company safety program, OSHA, EPA, and all governing authorities. Investigate unsafe conditions and immediately address and then educate on any unsafe conditions or acts whether observed or brought to your attention. Immediately issue safety violations. Engage in all tasks with a safety-first mindset. and implement corrective measures. Ensure regular site safety audits are conducted and maintained in accordance with the site-specific safety plan. Safe work or No work mindset; fully committed to safety and job site standards, policies, and processes. Operations and Field Management
Create, update, and maintain the master project schedule with the help of the Scheduler, including providing weekly look ahead schedule to all subcontractors and vendors Prepare and distribute short-interval look-ahead project schedules to the subcontractors weekly to make sure that upcoming events are proactively communicated, tracked, and completed on time pursuant to the established project schedule. Responsible for recognizing and trouble-shooting problems. Manage on site field staff to achieve the project goals of schedule,budget, and project quality. Diligently manage the day-to-day field activities of all subcontractors to ensure that the project milestone dates, and overall schedule completion date is met, and the work is being performed within the established project budget Direct and manage the work loads of supporting field staff to include training,mentoring and follow-up. Produce record files for the duration of the project,including oversight of subcontractor prepared “Operations and Maintenance Manuals”, maintenance of current as-built drawings, and all related “Close Out” documents. Communicate and coordinate with project management team on all cost and time related issues to seek appropriate and timely resolution. Manage the punch list and project closeout process to assure timely completion. Develop a Request for Information “RFI” system log and track monitor and resolve all RFI’s. Responsible for overseeing and inspection of project progress daily. Coordinate all inspections and ensure that the quality aspects of the physical work are fully documented. Prepare daily reports for each day of the project life cycle. These must be thorough and provide adequate details of all subcontractor’s daily activities including man power and equipment for the proper tracking of the project. Monitor all changed conditions, record, and maintain an accurate set of “As-Built” construction plans to be turned over to the owner at project completion Plan and ensure all work performed complies with drawings, specifications, and project schedule. Must have a great eye for detail and identifying “scope gap”, errors and omissions, specifically what is a required scope element but not included in the contract documents. Manage the Document Control process, including changes in project scope, to ensure that the most current contract documents are always used to prevent avoidable rework. Ensure that changes in the field are documented and formally communicated to all stakeholders so that the changed conditions (cost and schedule impacts) may be processed by GC/Owner and Subcontractor change orders. Collaborate with Project Manager and actively participate in the procurement process including analyzing all purchase orders and subcontracts to ensure complete scope coverage prior to distribution and management of terms and conditions of the contract documents, sub-contracts, purchase orders, design changes, and owner input while maintaining control on job costs. Note, effective relationships between PMs and superintendents are usually more like peers,with respect for each other's expertise and distinct roles. Coordinate, direct and monitor the activities of all subcontractors and suppliers. Maintain and enforce a quality workmanship program with all subcontractors. Ability to aggressively follow-up with sub-contractors and vendors when necessary. Schedule and direct pre-construction, progress, Safety,staff and other project-related meetings. Participate with project management in the issuance and accuracy of monthly progress reports, monthly pay applications, and internal cost analysis and reporting. Review, approve and code pay apps and invoices. Record daily activities related to quantities and durations. Provide timely and cordial interaction with supporting work groups, such as accounting, HR, etc. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in construction management desired or demonstrated equivalent skill and ability 15 years of verifiable experience in general contracting procedures OSHA 30 Training and Certification Experience with motivating, planning, teamwork, collaboration, and conflict-resolution skills An experienced and effective leader with a win-win team focus Maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record Knowledge and Skills
Possess a comprehensive knowledge of interpreting construction plans, specifications, owner contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, shop drawings, Potential Change orders (PCO’s), Request for Information (RFI’s), submittals and all other project-related documents. Knowledge of construction building codes. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Knowledge of construction estimating and scheduling practices. Must demonstrate delegative prowess, managerial and problem solving,prioritization skills appropriate with this position. Must have the ability to read and understand construction documents.Must be PC proficient with strong working knowledge of, or ability and willingness to learn Microsoft Office Suite, CMIC and other project management software as required by each project. Ensure that all training requirements are met for field staff and subcontractors performing specific work tasks. Review and understand the project specific subcontractor scopes of work and requirements. Excellent cost tracking and analytical skills.
