The John Geigle branch is a very active YMCA serving many community needs. The facility has a large wellness center, group exercise room, multi-purpose rooms for additional group exercise space. The facility will be going through renovations this spring to add an additional space for group exercise and wellness programming. Responsibilities of this position will include staff supervision, budgeting, expense control and income generation for a $394,000 department budget, program development and quality control, community relations, collaborations, long-range planning and equipment and facility maintenance. The Wellness Director also provides direction and leadership for the achievement of Association goals in accordance with the policies, procedures and standards established by the Board. A Bachelor's Degree in field required. Master's Degree in related field preferred. Must have a minimum 3 years experience in related field and 2 years experience in management or supervision. Must meet YMCA of the Suncoast driving criteria. Y-USA Team leader, Multi-Team Leader or Organizational Leader Certification preferred. Must maintain current CPR/First Aid certification and National Certification as a Personal Trainer. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time as well as squat, stoop or bend into awkward positions. Must be able to carry and spot up to 50 pounds. Visual and auditory observation of staff, volunteers and members required. Must be able to multi task, manage and cultivate relationships as well as have a high level of emotional maturity. Must have strong communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills. Must also have strong organizational skills.
