
Responsibilities
Conceptualize, develop, and write and edit engaging, informative, and effective copy for Sherwin-Williams brand segments and Consumer Brands organic social media channels including (but not limited to): Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Threads and other social media channels and ad hoc requests.
Collaborate with the social media and creative teams to brainstorm and develop creative concepts for social media content, campaigns and promotions.
Collaborate with the social media team and creative teams to help create visually effective and engaging social media content.
Ensure communications are on-brand, match the brand’s specific voice and tone, and are compelling to the target audience.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, current events, and social media marketing best practices and apply to all work.
Continually test and optimize copy.
Develop internal best practices for organic social media copy.
Responsible for editing and proofing (general QA) all organic social copy and social-related communications materials.
Qualifications
FORMAL EDUCATION:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, New Media, Public Relations, English, Journalism, or related fields.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
Minimum 1 year of experience in a social media marketing or copywriting role
Excellent knowledge of all social media channels and takes proactive effort to stay on top of trending topics, functions, algorithms, new channels and content forms.
Outstanding organizational, communication (verbal / presentation / written), and interpersonal skills with track record of partnering with and presenting to management.
Ability to partner with internal teams and external agencies on content concepting, creation and execution of social media initiatives.
Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and prioritize multiple duties that are assigned simultaneously and to work autonomously and proactively problem solve with sound business judgement, while maintaining strong attention to detail.
Strong project management and organizational skills with hands-on experience coordinating across multiple projects to meet timelines and manage a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment.
Highly collaborative, knowing how to generate breakthrough social work while partnering with various teams along the way.
Preferred:
2+ years of experience in a social media marketing or copywriting role.
Knowledge of social media tools (such as Sprout Social, BazaarVoice Social Commerce (previously Curalate), Airtable) for scheduling/posting content, organizing data and managing user generated content.
Experience working with paid social media campaigns and/or advertising teams or agencies.
Cross functional understanding of digital media, ecommerce and website strategy, PR and influencers/creators.
TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
Microsoft Office Suite
Familiarity with social media management channels and tools
Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Pinterest
Experience with Sprout Social and BazaarVoice, or similar tools
Preferred:
Familiarity with Google Analytics and setting up UTM links
Familiarity with Photoshop or other creative tools
