Responsibilities
The Sr. Natural Gas Trader for MEMS will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and expanding Mitsui’s natural gas portfolio within the Texas intrastate and interstate markets for the next day, prompt month and long-term markets. This portfolio includes storage, transport and industrial assets. The Sr. Natural Gas Trader will also be expected to help support and grow MITSUI’s 3 rd party natural gas trading business. This position will have P&L objectives along with asset management & optimization responsibilities. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in portfolio management, asset optimization, and positive P&L contribution through proprietary trading strategies. Manage daily, prompt month and forward physical and financial natural gas positions on Texas intrastate and interstate pipelines. Manage growing equity production portfolio. Work with team to support all feed-gas operations for Cameron LNG facility across Texas and Gulf Coast assets. Identify, value and execute physical and financial natural gas trading strategies within stated risk limits. Timely communication with other traders and scheduling personnel regarding market and pipeline information. Manage storage assets using cash and forward spread strategies to create value across the asset. Assist internal departments, such as Confirmations, Risk, IT and Accounting to ensure deals are managed according to their intent in a timely and accurate manner. Support supply and hedging needs of Fairway Methanol plant, and corresponding reporting needs for the Mitsui chemical division. Support Mitsui’s fundamental market analytics by monitoring market developments that may impact supply / demand within the Texas and Gulf Coast regions. Adherence to all corporate Risk Management policies and procedures. Required Skills & Abilities
Proficiency or the ability to effectively demonstrate proficiency with appropriate training with third party software licensed to the Company such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word). Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail. Exceptional communication skills. Possess refined interpersonal verbal and written communication skills, including writing and telephone communication skills. Ability to present to senior managers when needed. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to work independently with little to no supervision. Education & Experience
Undergraduate degree or equivalent related work experience [Finance or Accounting preferred). At least 5-10 years of Natural Gas industry experience required. 5year(s) of Natural Gas trading experience preferred. Language Skills
