Associate Court Clerk

The New York State Unified Court System, Appellate Division Second Department is recruiting for one (1) position in the

Appellate Court Clerk Series in Kings County.

The position will be filled in one of the following titles and will be dependent on the experience and qualifications of the applicant selected.

Associate Appellate Court Clerk or Senior Appellate Court Clerk. The individual assigned to this position will assist attorneys in the Decision Department in the Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department. Under attorney supervision, the candidate would be responsible for preparing a wide variety of motion orders to be published by the Court. The candidate would also be responsible for maintaining the assigned counsel database, electronically serving orders to show cause, verifying legal citations and references, and related administrative tasks. Qualifications

Associate Appellate Court Clerk:

One year of service in the Senior Appellate Court Clerk title;

or

One year of permanent, competitive class service in the Senior Court Clerk title;

or

An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Base Salary:

$84,659 + $4,920 Location Pay Senior Appellate Court Clerk:

Two years of service in any title in the Unified Court System; or A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; or An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Base Salary:

$76,112 + $4,920 Location Pay Familiarity with Westlaw and LexisNexis preferred.
