Position Summary The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent and agronomy leadership team to help oversee daily golf course maintenance operations, staff development, and long-term turf health initiatives across a high-volume private club environment.
This role offers hands-on leadership experience, exposure to advanced agronomic programs, and a clear path for professional growth within Heritage Golf Group.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in daily planning and execution of course maintenance operations
Lead, train, and motivate maintenance staff
Participate in chemical and fertilizer applications and recordkeeping
Monitor turf conditions and assist with agronomic decision-making
Support irrigation system operation, repair, and troubleshooting
Assist with tournament preparation and course setup
Ensure safety compliance and best management practices
Educational Requirements Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management or related field preferred
Experience Requirements
2–4+ years of golf course maintenance experience
Florida pesticide applicator license (or ability to obtain)
Strong leadership skills and desire to grow professionally
Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
