Position National Business Development Manager – Dangerous Goods Packaging Solutions
is responsible for leveraging packaging expertise to serve our expanding sales team and address our customers’ business needs with world-class DG packaging solutions. This role requires extensive travel and is ideal for a self-driven packaging professional who wants a customer-facing sales position.
Key Responsibilities
Leverage DG packaging expertise to engage with customers’ packaging decision makers and sell DG packaging solutions across target verticals such as chemicals, pharma, life sciences, manufacturing, oil/gas, retail, eCommerce, technology, wholesale, and more.
Understand DG regulations to identify appropriate products and properly assist customer needs.
Effectively communicate product attributes and features to meet customer requirements.
Expand existing customer base and drive new customer acquisition.
Collaborate with the Packaging Product Management Team to align on packaging solutions focused on customer growth.
Prospect, qualify, and close new business opportunities nationwide.
Conduct onsite sales calls, presentations, and product demonstrations.
Build relationships with packaging decision makers (engineers, managers, directors), procurement, operations, plant leadership, EHS, and executive stakeholders.
Maintain and grow a strong sales pipeline using CRM tools.
Meet or exceed revenue, margin, and growth targets.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful implementation and customer satisfaction.
Represent the company at trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events.
Provide ongoing market, customer, and competitive intelligence.
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated success in building DG packaging programs within chemical, pharma, industrial, or related industries.
Willingness and ability to travel approximately 80% nationwide.
Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational abilities.
Preferred Experience
Experience selling into multi-location or national accounts.
Familiarity with compliance-driven packaging requirements.
Proven ability to manage multiple technical programs, influence decision makers, and communicate effectively from shop floor to C-Suite.
Education
Preferred: Packaging engineering, chemical engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or related packaging background.
Alternative: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or equivalent experience with demonstrated success.
