
Financial Aid Advisor "Bilingual Spanish is required"

Role Description
Financial Aid Advisor (Full‑time, on‑site) located in Times Square, New York. This position assists prospective and current students in navigating financial aid processes, including completing financial aid applications, understanding Title IV regulations, and determining eligibility. The role involves providing customer service support, managing enrollment‑related financial matters, and ensuring compliance with institutional, state, and federal financial aid policies. Additional duties include maintaining accurate records of financial aid awards and collaborating with students, families, and other departments to support educational goals.
Schedule: Monday‑Friday; one Saturday per month; three days 9 AM–5 PM; two days 11 AM–7 PM.
Qualifications
Finance and student financial aid skills, including understanding of financial aid processes and calculations
Customer service and enrollment management skills to assist and support students and families effectively
Knowledge of Title IV regulations and compliance requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Proficiency in using financial aid management systems, spreadsheets, and other relevant software
Relevant experience in financial aid advising or a related field is preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Higher Education, or a related field is beneficial
Ability to meet deadlines and goals
Ability to multi‑task and work in a fast‑paced environment
Team‑player, attentive to detail, responsible
Willingness to learn school procedures and protocols
Strong computer skills
Physical Requirements
This role works in an office environment with minimal psychological risk. It may involve exposure to emotionally challenging experiences and interactions with upset individuals, irregular and high volumes, and tight deadlines beyond one's control. Regular working hours are required, with occasional evening or weekend work.
