Leveraged Finance Associate / Private Credit Location:

New York, NY About the Role We are seeking a talented Leveraged Finance Associate to join a growing Private Credit platform. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex financing transactions across a diverse portfolio of middle-market and large-cap companies, gaining exposure to direct lending, unitranche financing, mezzanine debt, and other alternative credit structures. Key Responsibilities Execute leveraged finance transactions from origination through closing, including credit analysis, financial modeling, and documentation review Build and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate potential investments, including cash flow projections, covenant compliance scenarios, and recovery analyses Conduct comprehensive due diligence on prospective borrowers, including industry research, competitive positioning analysis, and management assessment Prepare investment committee memoranda and presentations articulating credit thesis, risk factors, and recommended terms Monitor existing portfolio companies through quarterly and annual financial reporting, covenant compliance tracking, and ongoing borrower communication Collaborate with legal counsel, consultants, and third-party advisors throughout the transaction lifecycle Support senior team members in building and maintaining relationships with private equity sponsors, investment banks, and intermediaries Participate in credit committee meetings and contribute to portfolio risk management discussions Required Qualifications 2-4 years of relevant experience in leveraged finance, investment banking (coverage or M&A with debt financing exposure), credit rating agency, or related field Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related discipline from a top-tier university Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with demonstrated proficiency in Excel and financial statement analysis Solid understanding of capital structures, credit documentation, and leveraged finance markets Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to articulate complex credit stories clearly and concisely Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously Self-motivated team player who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment Preferred Qualifications MBA or CFA designation (or progress toward completion) Experience with sponsor-backed transactions and private equity financing structures Familiarity with broadly syndicated loans, high-yield bonds, and alternative credit products Direct lending or private credit fund experience What We Offer Competitive base salary and performance-based bonus structure Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with employer match Professional development opportunities and support for CFA or other relevant certifications Exposure to senior leadership and accelerated career progression in a growing platform
