Our client is seeking a motivated
Junior Casualty Underwriter
to join their Houston team. This entry‑level position focuses on casualty risks in the upstream oil & gas sector, including liability exposures for drilling contractors, service companies, and operators. Direct underwriting experience is not required and we welcome candidates with strong analytical skills, business acumen, and a desire to build a career in specialty insurance. Key Responsibilities: Assist senior underwriters in evaluating casualty submissions for upstream oil & gas accounts. Support risk assessment by gathering data, analyzing exposures, and preparing underwriting files. Collaborate with brokers and clients to ensure accurate information flow and timely responses. Contribute to pricing, coverage recommendations, and policy issuance under guidance from senior staff. Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and casualty market conditions to support underwriting decisions. Participate in training and mentorship programs to develop technical underwriting expertise in casualty lines. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree preferred (Finance, Business, Risk Management, Energy, or related field). Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities. Interest in casualty insurance and upstream oil & gas operations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with data analysis tools a plus. Preferred backgrounds include risk management, underwriting, or account management within upstream oil & gas.
