Overview:
A leading employee-owned construction company is seeking an experienced Field Foreman to supervise steel erection projects on-site. This role is critical to ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality completion of structural and miscellaneous steel installations. The position offers a hands-on leadership opportunity in a safety-focused and collaborative environment, with the chance to mentor and develop a skilled team of ironworkers.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Senior Field Foreman
to lead field operations, manage crews, and ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role combines hands-on ironworking experience with strong leadership, planning, and technical oversight, acting as a working Foreman while directing crews of up to 10 personnel. Key Responsibilities Act as a working Foreman by directing crew activities while assisting with field work as needed
Lead, manage, and mentor a crew of up to
10 ironworkers
Plan daily work activities to meet production goals, budgets, and estimated hours
Read and interpret all project documents, including drawings, e-sheets, and contract documents
Ensure all work meets
AISC, AWS, and RCSC
standards
Enforce all safety policies and ensure full crew compliance
Serve as an example of a safe and responsible equipment operator
Monitor productivity and ensure efficient use of labor and equipment
Coordinate equipment rentals and ensure timely return
Ensure trucks and equipment are properly maintained and protected from damage or abuse
Mentor and train ironworkers in welding, layout, connecting, skidmore use, and related skills
Communicate effectively with management, inspectors, and crew members
Ensure adherence to company policies, including the code of ethics and employee handbook
Safety & Performance Expectations Safety-conscious leader with an incident-free mindset
Enforces safety requirements consistently across the crew
Excellent attendance and reliability
Sets a strong example through leadership, accountability, and professionalism

Minimum
5 years of ironworking experience
or equivalent combination of education and experience

Proficient in using an
iPad
Proficient in
Outlook
and other JBS computer programs
Proficient in
Tekla EPMGO
for tracking and recording job progress
Effectively completes
QCI processes
and records them in Tekla EPMGO
Above-average written and oral communication skills
Strong management and leadership capabilities
