BRIX is seeking a Senior Paralegal to join the legal team. In this role, you will work directly with the Chief Legal Officer, Director of Accounting and the individual business leads to provide advanced paralegal support for corporate and transaction matters, coupled with specific HR responsibilities, ensuring legal compliance and efficient operations for both departments.
In addition to the qualifications below, you should be naturally inquisitive, enjoy learning, and have the ability to work cross-functionally with all of our teams. This role will report to BRIX’s Chief Legal Officer.
Responsibilities
Draft, review, and manage various legal documents (contracts, agreements, amendments) Perform legal research and factual investigation Manage contract lifecycle, including intake, review and tracking Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of standard forms, trainings, legal processes and systems to help us scale with the business and maximize efficiency and velocity Manage reporting for each brand’s franchise disclosure document (open stores, closed stores, transfers) Support franchise sales and development with franchisee qualification process through FranConnect Assist finance with auditing royalty and ad fund collection processes, including documenting special agreements that affect royalty and ad fund rates Support legal maintenance of franchise portfolio (expiration dates, renewal process, default and termination notices) HR Responsibilities:
Support Accounting/HR Director with documentation, tracking and coordination with external HR vendors (benefits administrators, payroll providers), and gain an understanding of the contracts between BRIX and these providers Manage and maintain HR policies, including updates, distribution, and tracking of employee acknowledgements Document HR processes and maintain procedural guides Maintain records to support compliance with employment and benefits laws (e.g., ERISA, ACA, COBRA administration coordination) Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate Proficiency with MS Office Suite and familiarity with DocuSign and other contract management tools Practical experience in the restaurant industry or retail business Practical experience in multi-state franchising a plus Significant paralegal experience primarily focusing on corporate and transactions Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures and relevant HR/employment law basics Excellent organizational, communication (written/verbal) and multitasking skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion BRIX is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
