
Body Shop Estimator – Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Damage Assessment & Estimating
Inspect vehicles to determine the full extent of damage, including structural, mechanical, and cosmetic issues.
Prepare accurate estimates using CCC..
Identify necessary parts, labor times, materials, and sublet needs.
Write supplements and update estimates as additional damage is discovered.
Ensure all estimates comply with OEM repair procedures and insurance guidelines.
Customer & Insurance Communication
Explain repair processes, timelines, and estimate details to customers in a clear, professional manner.
Communicate with insurance adjusters to negotiate approvals and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain consistent updates with customers throughout the repair cycle.
Repair Order Management
Create and manage repair orders, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
Coordinate with technicians, parts staff, and production managers to ensure smooth workflow.
Monitor repair progress and adjust timelines or documentation as needed.
Verify final repairs meet quality standards before delivery.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience as a collision estimator (preferred).
Proficiency with CCC.
Strong understanding of collision repair processes and OEM procedures.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and customerservice skills.
Ability to multitask and manage high-volume workflow.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
