JOB SUMMARY
The Lead Graphic Designer is responsible for overseeing all aspects of print design, ensuring high-quality execution of brochures, advertising, direct mail, specialty print pieces, onboard marketing, and trade marketing materials. Reporting to the Senior Director, Creative, this role leads a team of print designers, managing workflow, upholding brand standards, and ensuring the successful execution of marketing materials that support the company's business objectives. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the design style and production of all print materials, including large-scale brochures, direct mail campaigns, trade marketing materials, onboard marketing collateral, and specialty pieces.
- Work closely with the Sr Director, Creative and Sr Copywriter to ensure print designs align with brand identity, messaging, and marketing objectives, as well as collaborate closely with digital executions to ensure cohesion across campaigns.
- Maintain a high level of design excellence, ensuring materials are visually compelling, strategically effective, and executed to the highest production standards.
- Lead and mentor a team of print designers, providing creative direction, constructive feedback, and support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, trade, and onboard operations, to ensure alignment with campaign objectives and business goals.
- Work closely with print vendors to guide production quality, paper selection, finishes, and ensure cost efficiencies and staying within budget.
- Ensure proper file preparation for press, adhering to best practices in color management, resolution, and printing specifications. Proofing and approvals on projects may be required.
- Troubleshoot design and production challenges to maintain efficiency and accuracy in all printed materials, ensuring any issues or concerns are communicated in a timely manner to project management teams and leadership.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to develop marketing collateral that supports sales, trade marketing, and onboard guest engagement initiatives.
- Collaborate with content creators, copywriters, and digital teams to ensure messaging and branding consistency across all marketing channels.
- Stay informed on print design trends, production techniques, and emerging materials to enhance the quality and impact of printed marketing assets.
- Identify opportunities for innovation in print marketing to elevate brand storytelling and engagement.
- Establish efficient processes and guidelines for print design projects, ensuring smooth execution from concept to final production.
- Ensure compliance with brand guidelines while continuously refining and elevating the company's print design standard
- Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
- Travel to domestic and/or international locations may be required.
DEGREE TYPE: Bachelor's Degree
FIELD(S) OF STUDY: Print Design
EXPERIENCE
- 6+ years of agency experience, in-house agency experience is preferred.
- Solid knowledge of marketing, brand, and design principles and development.
- Superior strategic thinking and creative skills (written, visual and conceptual)
- Ability to meet aggressive deadlines and juggle multiple priorities
- Self-motivation and a positive interaction with a wide range of individuals is expected
- Broad understanding of typography, color theory, current design, and advertising trends
- Strong corporate identity and branding experience
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite; must be highly skilled in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of software.
