Hiring: Graphic Designer / Production Control
Location: Marietta, GA

Pay: $21/hour

Hours: 8-5, M-F

Reports To: VP, Operations

Position Summary:

This dual-role position combines creative graphic design with hands-on production control. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating artwork files for signage, preparing production-ready graphics, and coordinating with the production team to ensure jobs move efficiently through the shop. This is a key role that bridges design and operations, requiring both artistic skill and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

Graphic Design

• Create custom sign layouts, proofs, and mockups based on customer branding, architectural plans, and project specifications.
• Set up artwork files for print, vinyl plotting, routing, and other fabrication processes.
• Modify and prepare vector artwork, ensuring compliance with production requirements.
• Work closely with the sales team to generate design concepts that meet client expectations.

Production Control

• Maintain the production schedule and job board, ensuring jobs are prioritized and deadlines are met.
• Review work orders, artwork, and material requirements to ensure readiness for production.
• Coordinate with fabrication, printing, vinyl, and installation teams to manage workflow.
• Monitor inventory levels of graphic materials and place orders as needed.
• Communicate job status updates to internal teams and escalate delays or issues proactively.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in graphic design, preferably in the sign industry.
• Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign); experience with FlexiSIGN, CorelDRAW, or AutoCAD is a plus.
• Strong understanding of design for print and production, including file setup, color management, and large-format output.
• Experience managing job schedules, production workflows, or shop coordination is preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with sign industry materials, substrates, and fabrication processes.
• Experience working in a fast-paced production or manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of RIP software and wide-format printing systems.
