The Sales Development Representative (In-Field) is responsible for building face-to-face relationships with local restaurant partners and generating qualified meetings for Outside Account Executives. This role serves as the first human interaction many merchants have with client and focuses on educating restaurants on the value of the platform, driving engagement, and supporting local commerce growth. The position is field-based and ideal for individuals who thrive in in-person sales environments and are motivated by measurable performance outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Visit a high volume of restaurant prospects within the assigned territory

Introduce DoorDash and secure qualified meetings for the Outside Sales team

Identify restaurant owners or key decision-makers and build rapport quickly

Present DoorDash’s value proposition to help restaurants grow orders and reach new customers

Accurately document visits, conversations, and outcomes in Salesforce and other sales tools

Collaborate with Outside Account Executives on target accounts and follow-up strategies

Plan and manage daily routes to maximize productivity and meeting conversions

Conduct follow-ups via phone, text, and email to confirm meetings

Achieve or exceed weekly and monthly performance targets

Share merchant feedback to help improve sales approach and product offerings

Required Skills:

1+ year of experience in outbound sales, field marketing, canvassing, or customer-facing roles

Experience in sales, hospitality, retail, service industry, or similar environments

Ability to conduct high-volume, short, in-person conversations daily

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field-based role

Goal-oriented mindset with resilience and persistence

Strong organizational and follow-up skills

Ability to clearly learn and articulate product value propositions

Preferred Skills:

Experience using CRM or sales tools such as Salesforce or Outreach

Restaurant, food & beverage, or local business experience
