An established international logistics and licensed customs brokerage operation is expanding its U.S. import compliance team and is seeking an experienced Customs Entry Writer in Dallas. This position plays a key role in ensuring compliant, on-time customs clearance for air and ocean import shipments across a diverse range of commodities. The role is highly detail-oriented and compliance-focused, supporting high-volume import programs while maintaining strict adherence to U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations and internal control standards. Job Responsibilities

Prepare, audit, and transmit U.S. import entries including 01 Consumption, 06 Warehouse, 10 Temporary Importation under Bond, and 11 Informal entries Perform accurate tariff classification under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) Determine correct customs valuation, duty rates, country of origin, and applicability of free trade agreements File entries through ACE and ABI systems in line with CBP timelines and release requirements Review and validate commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, arrival notices, and entry documentation Coordinate with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Partner Government Agencies including FDA, USDA, EPA, and DOT Resolve customs exams, holds, CF28s, CF29s, and release issues in a timely manner Process post-entry amendments, corrections, and protests where applicable Maintain compliant recordkeeping and audit-ready entry files in accordance with 19 CFR requirements Communicate clearance status, documentation gaps, and compliance risks to internal teams and clients Support internal audits, compliance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives What We Are Looking For

Demonstrable experience as a Customs Entry Writer, Import Entry Specialist, or Import Compliance Analyst within a licensed U.S. Customs Broker Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification, and valuation methodology Hands-on experience using ACE, ABI, and brokerage operating systems Working knowledge of PGA requirements including FDA, USDA, EPA, and DOT Detail-driven, compliance-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills Ability to manage high entry volumes in a deadline-driven environment Clear written and verbal communication skills Customs Broker License is advantageous but not required This role is actively being interviewed and shortlisting is underway. Only candidates with direct U.S. Customs entry writing experience will be considered. Forwarding operations or documentation-only backgrounds without hands-on entry filing will not align with this position. Qualified candidates will progress quickly through the interview process.
