Overview
Coordinate and implement grant‑funded disaster recovery programs, lead response and recovery operations, support the State Emergency Operations Center, and manage emergency communications.
Responsibilities
Coordinate state grant‑funded disaster recovery programs across Alaska. Lead and participate in statewide disaster response and recovery operations. Support the State Emergency Operations Center and manage emergency communications. Deploy to local communities to coordinate state responses and assist in disaster planning and preparedness efforts.
Minimum Qualifications
One year of entry professional level experience mitigating, preparing for, responding to, or recovering from emergencies, disasters, or terrorist events (equivalent to EMS 1 experience). OR two years of entry professional level experience creating contingency plans, conducting exercises, responding to events, or coordinating the recovery from such events. OR a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college plus one year of entry professional level experience in contingency planning, exercising, or recovery coordination. Alaska driver’s license required.
