Inside Sales Representative-Contract
Metrix is the preferred supplier of industrial condition monitoring systems to many of the world's leading manufacturers and users of cooling towers, gas turbines, reciprocating compressors, and other rotating and reciprocating machinery. With headquarters in Houston, Texas, we operate in more than 40 countries via factory-direct sales and service professionals, along with a strategic network of instrumentation partners. We pioneered the concept of simple, affordable machinery protection with our seismic measurement technology. Initially focused on geophysical exploration, this technology also found abundant applications for vibration measurements on industrial machines and has been our focus for 50 years. The Inside Sales Representative position is a hands-on role which responds to immediate customer needs (quotes) as well as conducts inside sales efforts. Our goal is to help our customers experience the benefits of our products and therefore grow our company. This position is 60% remote and 40% in the office (i.e. two days a week), and will start as a temporary status (estimate of 4 months) with potential to convert to regular status. You will be a valued member of our Inside Sales team and assist in all sales efforts such as preparing quotes, building the pipeline, generating leads, following up, and supporting the outside sales teams and our partners. Learning is part of our culture! As part of ongoing training, you will learn about Metrix products and build a basic technical vocabulary and competency to help you communicate effectively with our customers. Potential career paths to Technical Product Applications Support Specialist and Outside Sales. Team responsibilities include: Learn about Metrix products, their applications, and how they benefit our customers. Provide timely and accurate quotes via ERP (IFS software) with the goal of building customer goodwill. Work persistently with sales, technical support, manufacturing, purchasing etc. to get timely answers to customer questions that are required to finalize quotes. Perform quote follow-ups to increase quote-to-order conversion. Conduct Inside-Sales prospecting, including cold calling with strategic accounts. Research potential prospects, develop customer call lists, and qualify leads in targeted markets. Manage CRM (Leads / Sales Metrics) to produce lead reports and document important opportunities. Assist to ensure that opportunities are acted on (i.e. leads are followed through). Communicate directly and effectively with key personnel including internal and external customers, end users, and other third-party representatives and distributors. Work independently and effectively prioritize and execute tasks. Report regularly to manager on job responsibilities (i.e. order and quote status). Contribute and collaborate to assist in the success of all team members. Backup the technical support team by answering phone calls and creating the initial ticket. Additional responsibilities: Follow all company safety policies and procedures and organize work areas for efficiency and safety. Respond to change productively and handle other duties as required. As a valued team member, each person will provide input into strategic marketing activities, interact with management and senior level executives and work under limited direction. Development training includes: Training on Metrix products, and the industries we serve will be a part of your normal weekly routine. Learning is part of our culture! This may include cross training in technical support and/or operations. If desired, you may periodically travel with a Regional Sales Manager to gain field experience with Metrix products and build personal relationships with our customers. Multiple career paths (i.e. Outside Sales, Technical Service, or Customer Service or other functions). Qualifications: Education & Experience: 2+ years of experience working in inside sales and/or customer service required, preferably in an industrial or electromechanical manufacturing environment. Prefer experience with instrumentation testing and calibration Associates preferred (High school diploma or equivalent, required). Have proven experience in cold calling, appointment setting, and interacting/presenting to customers. Experience in successfully onboarding new customers and conversing with individuals at all levels of the customer organization. Knowledge & Skills: Strong organizational skills Strong ability to learn electronics technical knowledge Demonstrated ability to multi-task Positive outlook and attitude ERP (business planning software) Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Word) Travel: Not Required.
