This position primarily involves managing a supply chain and working with the company’s ERP computer system (SAP) to purchase raw materials, commercial components and manufactured materials as released by Engineering on a Bill of Materials.The associate in this position will work closely with Production Management and Engineering to understand component specifications and work with vendors to negotiate the best value for the business in terms of Quality, Price, and Delivery in accordance to the specifications directed by Engineering.The selected candidate will be systematic in following a process to insure raw materials are available for their downstream customer (manufacturing). Responsibilities include: Running an ERP generated “buy report” to identify components to be purchased in accordance with system demand resulting from Engineering BOM releases; Analyzing components to be purchased, obtaining multiple quotes from qualified vendors, and negotiating to obtain optimal value for the company in terms of Quality, Price, and Delivery; Placing purchase orders within approved spending limits; Systematically following up with vendors to insure on-time delivery; Measuring, analyzing and reporting monthly vendor performance levels and working toward continuous vendor improvement; Analyzing historical purchasing data of key components and recommending purchasing strategies to management to reduce costs (i.e. blanket orders, Economical Order Quantities, vendor consignment, and/or min/max Inventory levels); Managing timely returns to vendors of non-conforming or mis-specified product to obtain credit; Additional duties as assigned by manager COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS

High focus on quality, cost, on-time delivery and customer satisfaction. Professional and detailed oriented. Strong analytical problem solving skills. SAP experience preferred EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Candidates must have obtained a high school diploma and have a minimum of three years of technical buying experience. Candidates must have computer ERP system experience. Adept at successfully working and developing relationships in a professional organization. EQUIPMENT USED
