Job Overview
Cortlandt Healthcare is seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Food Service to oversee all dietary and food service operations within our Skilled Nursing Facility. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high-quality meal service, regulatory compliance, and resident satisfaction while managing staff, budgets, and daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
Direct and oversee all food service and dietary operations
Ensure meals meet residents’ nutritional needs, physician orders, and dietary restrictions
Maintain compliance with CMS, DOH, health department, and sanitation regulations
Supervise, train, and schedule dietary staff
Collaborate with the Registered Dietitian on menu planning and nutritional compliance
Monitor food quality, safety, sanitation, and infection control standards
Manage inventory, purchasing, vendor relationships, and cost controls
Address resident and family concerns related to dining services
Support survey readiness and corrective action plans
Qualifications
Prior food service leadership experience in a skilled nursing or healthcare setting preferred
Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements
Supervisory and staff management experience
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Certification in food service management or ServSafe preferred
