Associate Director of Data Strategy Systems
to join our
Metropolitan Peace Academy (MPA)
office.
Salary The average starting salary for this position will fall in the range of
$88,000 - $92,000
annually. Where candidates fall in this range will be based on skill and experience level.
Essential Job Functions
Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive data strategy to support organizational goals, including data collection, storage, and utilization.
Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of data systems (e.g., databases, data warehouses, cloud platforms).
Lead the development and enforcement of governance policies, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Provide leadership to MPI’s team of data professionals, including data engineers, architects, and analysts.
Partner with business units (e.g., IT, marketing, operations) to identify data needs and deliver solutions.
Provide thought leadership in the assessment and implementation of data tools, platforms, and technologies (e.g., GCP, BigQuery, Python, etc.) to optimize data infrastructure.
Lead data workflows processes to include ETL processes and system integrations to enhance efficiency and scalability.
Lead the development and thought leadership of innovative data systems that support advanced analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives.
Identify and mitigate risks related to data security, privacy, and system performance.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, required.
Expertise in data platforms (e.g., SQL, Google Cloud Platform, Snowflake, AWS, Google Cloud) and data integration tools, required.
Master’s Degree in Data Science, Information Systems, or related field, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong understanding of data governance, data modeling, and ETL processes.
Excellent leadership and communication skills to align technical solutions with business needs.
Familiarity with data privacy regulations and cybersecurity best practices.
Proven project management skills in delivering data-related initiatives.
Additional Requirements
Satisfactorily pass all relevant screenings and criminal background checks.
Transportation/Travel Requirements
Driving for work required with transportation of clients preferred in a personally owned vehicle. Travel between sites required.
Physical Demands
While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle, and operate or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data figures, transcribing, and viewing a computer terminal.
