Job Title: Commercial Specialist, Strategic Accounts
Location: Remote
What we are looking for The Commercial Specialist, Strategic Accounts is a key role in supporting our strategic accounts. This role is critical in our efforts to maintain our market share.
This position is responsible for customer interface and management, supporting the SAM in all areas. It will include assisting in design and application of highly customizable products to meet the customer’s refrigeration display equipment requirements. This will relate particularly to the CO2 multiple product lines Hill-Phoenix offers. The role additionally acts as a senior project manager, managing a team of product managers. This will involve a variety of functions involving close customer contact for equipment, engineering design, pricing, delivery, and installation, working in concert with contractors, operations, purchasing, engineers, other internal sales personnel, and customer stakeholders.
What you will be responsible for in this role
Deliver consultative selling and drive customer demand shaping
Interact with the customer’s procurement team and engineering team, customers and/or outside sales to determine customer requirements and specifications for jobs to be designed. Ultimately, this delivers customer value
Review customer fixture plans and build future order requirements for equipment
Manage Salesforce forecast data and daily handling of administrative duties and functions
Determines proper system/equipment type to meet the customer’s needs
Partner with Field Support Team on resolving warranty and operational issues. Co‑coordinate with Field Support Team on systems start up support
Lead and collaborate with other departments to ensure that projects are successfully carried through finance, materials group, production engineering, manufacturing and field services from quote to installation
Influence customers with remodel requirements, suggesting new equipment and/or field modifications to meet the customer’s demands
Liaise between vendors, engineering contractors, customers, and internal parties to deliver best solution at the best value for the customer
Identify opportunities for product rationalization and cost reduction to reduce upfront purchase cost, create value and customer good will
Other duties as assigned
What are the basic qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree with 10 to 15 years’ experience within the refrigeration equipment industry; or
Technical Degree or equivalent apprenticeship program in the HVAC/R industry with 8+ years’ experience within the refrigeration industry; and
2+ years of application engineering experience
What are the preferred qualifications
Familiarity with AutoCAD drawings preferred
To be a great fit for the role
Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook) applications to at least an advanced beginner to intermediate level.
Strong experience with customer‑facing communications in relation to industrial refrigeration systems and refrigeration display fixtures
Ability to interpret store layout and fixture plans
Strong problem‑solving ability
Ability to quickly adapt in a fast‑paced high‑energy environment
Works well under pressure, deadlines and shifting priorities depending upon the needs of the business
Ability to manage multiple projects / tasks
History of continuous improvement and change management controls
Strong mechanical ability / intellectual curiosity
