What We Are Looking For The Commercial Specialist, Strategic Accounts is a key role in supporting our strategic accounts. This role is critical in our efforts to maintain our market share. This position is responsible for customer interface and management, supporting the SAM in all areas. It will include assisting in design and application of highly customizable products to meet the customer’s refrigeration display equipment requirements, particularly related to the CO2 multiple product lines Hill-Phoenix offers. The role also acts as a senior project manager, managing a team of product managers, with close customer contact for equipment, engineering design, pricing, delivery, and installation, working with contractors, operations, purchasing, engineers, other internal sales personnel, and customer stakeholders.
What You Will Be Responsible For In This Role
Deliver consultative selling and drive customer demand shaping
Interact with the customer’s procurement team and engineering team, customers and/or outside sales to determine requirements and specifications for jobs to be designed
Review customer fixture plans and build future order requirements for equipment
Manage Salesforce forecast data and daily handling of administrative duties
Determine proper system/equipment type to meet the customer’s needs
Partner with Field Support Team on warranty and operational issues and coordinate systems start-up support
Lead and collaborate with other departments to ensure projects are carried through from quote to installation
Influence customers with remodel requirements, suggesting new equipment and/or field modifications
Liaise between vendors, engineering contractors, customers, and internal parties to deliver best value
Identify opportunities for product rationalization and cost reduction
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Basic qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree with 10 to 15 years’ experience within the refrigeration equipment industry; or
Technical Degree or equivalent apprenticeship in HVAC/R with 8+ years’ experience in refrigeration; and
2+ years of application engineering experience
Preferred qualifications
Familiarity with AutoCAD drawings
To Be a Great Fit For The Role
Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) at an advanced beginner to intermediate level
Strong experience with customer-facing communications in relation to industrial refrigeration systems and display fixtures
Ability to interpret store layout and fixture plans
Strong problem-solving ability
Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
Works well under pressure with deadlines and shifting priorities
Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks
History of continuous improvement and change management
Strong mechanical ability and intellectual curiosity
Travel up to 15%
Focus on customer needs and teamwork; ability to lead and make timely decisions in the best interest of the customer and organization
