Curriculum Writer (K–5 Social-Emotional Learning)
InnerJoy Ed, Princeton, New Jersey, us, 08543
Overview
On-site | Princeton, NJ
Full-time | 12-month contract (extension possible)
At InnerJoy Ed, we’re reimagining preventive mental health education for children. Instead of waiting for crises, we build emotional intelligence early—through evidence-based, engaging, age-appropriate learning.
Why This Role Is Special
This isn’t a traditional SEL program.
Our curriculum integrates three essential lenses of human experience:
Psychology (Mind): CBT, ACT, DBT, emotional literacy
Physiology (Body): Brain science, nervous system regulation, somatic awareness
Each 25-minute lesson teaches one Portable Coping Skill (PCS) that children can actually use in real life.
You’ll help shape a curriculum that could reach hundreds of thousands of children.
What You’ll Do
Write comprehensive K–5 SEL lessons across all grade bands
Develop scripts for engaging video-based instruction
Design creative movement, reflection, and art-based activities
Collaborate with neuroscientists, therapists, SEL experts, educators, and a production team
Ensure content is developmentally appropriate, evidence-based, and classroom-ready
Coordinate closely with video production, graphics, and implementation teams
Who We’re Looking For
7+ years of K–5 curriculum development experience
Strong understanding of child development (ages 5–11)
Experience with SEL frameworks (CASEL preferred)
Excellent writing skills for children, educators, and digital delivery
Bonus: familiarity with CBT, ACT, DBT, neuroscience, mindfulness, or trauma-informed education.
Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Notion AI, and Grammarly to support curriculum design, research, and grade-level adaptation.
Why Join InnerJoy Ed
Make a real, measurable impact on children’s mental health
