Overview
The Director of Pharmacy provides leadership and oversight for the Pharmacy Department, ensuring safe, accurate, efficient, and compliant delivery of pharmaceutical services. This role manages staffing, operations, budget, regulatory compliance, clinical protocols, and strategic development to support exceptional patient care quality across the organization. Location and Schedule
Vernal, UT — Full Time Must-Haves
UT Pharmacist license (or the ability to obtain prior to starting) Education
Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy Doctorate in Pharmacy preferred Responsibilities
Lead departmental strategy and daily operations to support organizational goals Develop and implement pharmacy programs, policies, and standards Direct and evaluate patient care delivery models, service levels, workflows, and technology use Manage budgets and ensure financial performance within allocated resources Oversee hiring, staffing, performance reviews, training, and corrective actions Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations, including HIPAA Integrate evidence-based clinical practices across medication management Foster professional development and educational growth within the department Coordinate and oversee internal/external audits and regulatory inspections Collaborate with clinical teams, administrative leadership, and quality functions Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (accredited school) Active Utah Pharmacist License OR ability to obtain prior to start Leadership/management experience in a pharmacy environment Strong operational, clinical, and regulatory knowledge Preferred Qualifications
Doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD) Acute care or hospital leadership experience Budget management experience Skills & Competencies
Pharmacy operations leadership Clinical quality & regulatory compliance Staff supervision & development Audit and accreditation oversight Strategic planning and budgeting Customer service excellence Evidence-based practice integration Healthcare systems collaboration
