Salary Range: $55,000 – $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications

Position Overview
Our client, Miller, Long & Arnold Concrete Construction, is seeking Estimators to support the preparation of accurate, competitive cost estimates for concrete construction projects. This office-based role is ideal for an early-career professional or career changer with an interest in construction estimating and concrete systems.
The Estimator will work closely with project management staff to review construction documents, perform quantity takeoffs, assist with pricing, and support bid preparation for projects throughout the Baltimore region.
Key Responsibilities
Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents to understand scope and requirements.
Perform quantity takeoffs for concrete, reinforcing steel, formwork, and related materials.
Assist with preparing cost estimates, bid summaries, and supporting documentation.
Support pricing of labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
Identify scope clarifications, assumptions, and potential gaps for inclusion in bids.
Assist with coordination between estimating, project management, and operations teams.
Maintain organized estimate files, takeoff records, and historical cost data.
Participate in pre-bid meetings and internal estimate reviews as needed.
Support post-bid handoff to project management teams.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
2+ years of experience in heavy construction is required.
Experience or exposure to concrete construction preferred.
Experience or exposure working with GCs and Subcontractors is highly desired.
An associate’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field is a plus.
Skills
Strong math, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Willingness to learn estimating best practices and concrete construction methods.
Software Proficiency
Required:
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Preferred:
On-screen takeoff or estimating software
