Masis Professional Group has partnered with a local manufacturing company and is seeking a Director of Finance. This is a direct hire position in North Grafton, MA.
Position Summary
We are a small steel manufacturing company seeking a hands-on Director of Finance to manage our financial operations and support the owners with strategic decision-making. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working at both the detail level and the big-picture level. You will oversee core accounting functions, manage budgets and cash flow, and help evaluate major capital investments such as equipment purchases. Key Responsibilities
Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections Monitor financial performance and provide clear, practical reporting to ownership Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely month-end, Quarterly, year-end close Accounts Receivable & Payable
Oversee accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, and customer credit management Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate payment of vendors Monitor cash position and working capital needs Strategic & Ownership Support
Assist owners with corporate strategy, financial planning, and long-term growth initiatives Analyze and support large capital expenditures, including equipment purchases and financing options Provide financial models and return-on-investment analysis for major decisions Compliance & Controls
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements, and internal controls Maintain company vehicle titles, registrations and insurance Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, banks, and insurance providers Review and maintain employee health insurance and general business insurance coverages Operational Support
Work closely with operations and management to understand manufacturing costs, margins, and efficiencies Improve financial processes and reporting as the business grows Human Resources
Maintain and update Employee Policy Manual Perform employee hire and separation processing Maintain Paid Time Off (PTO) employee records Prepare and process weekly payroll Prepare monthly Simple IRA reporting & transfer Maintain Simple IRA plan and reporting requirements Maintain active and inactive employee files Maintain company OSHA logs and file company OSHA reports Network and IT Administration
Maintain the company’s network, server, network devices and PC’s Coordinate repairs, software updates, installations and upgrades with the external IT Support vendor Responsible for maintaining the company’s ERP system, updates and main contact with ERP vendor Website
Monitor company website and updates Maintain & update company marketing brochures and information Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in manufacturing Experience with budgeting, AR/AP, and cash flow management Strong understanding of cost accounting and capital investment analysis CPA or equivalent experience preferred but not required Hands-on and comfortable working in a small company environment Practical, straightforward communicator who can explain numbers clearly Detail-oriented but able to think strategically Trustworthy, reliable, and able to work independently Competitive salary based on experience
