Overview

The Director of Business Development is responsible for driving sustainable growth through strategic referral development, hospital partnerships, and sales team leadership. This role blends relationship-based business development with a practical, data-informed approach—using referral analytics, performance metrics, and market insights to identify growth opportunities and guide strategy. This position works closely with Sales Associates, Operations, Clinical Leadership, and Executive Leadership to expand HealthQuest’s footprint while maintaining strong service quality and referral partner satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Business Development team to drive growth in referral volume across hospitals, physician practices, and healthcare systems throughout the Greater Houston area Set clear business development goals, priorities, and expectations for the sales team, ensuring alignment with HealthQuest’s overall growth strategy Partner with Sales Associates to evaluate referral trends, territory performance, and growth opportunities Provide coaching and guidance on strategic accounts, hospital targeting, and relationship management Collaborate cross-functionally with Clinical, Operations, Intake, and Billing teams to support growth initiatives Analytics, Reporting & KPIs

Reviews and analyzes sales and operational records and reports; uses data to project referrals, determine profitability and targets, and identify potential new markets. Monitor and report on key business development KPIs (e.g., referral volume, conversion rates, hospital penetration, territory growth) Use data insights to inform strategy, prioritize accounts, and support leadership decision-making Partner with leadership to refine dashboards, reports, and performance metrics as the department scales Hospital & Market Development

Evaluate hospital systems and healthcare networks in the Greater Houston area for expansion opportunities Support contracting, onboarding, and relationship-building with new hospital partners Track market share, competitive landscape, and emerging referral sources Strategic Planning & Leadership Support

Provide regular updates and insights to Executive Leadership on business development performance and opportunities Contribute to annual planning, forecasting, and long-term growth initiatives Ensure business development efforts align with HealthQuest’s mission, values, and patient-first approach Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, or a related field 5+ years of business development or sales leadership experience, preferably in healthcare, infusion, specialty pharmacy, or home health Proven experience developing referral relationships with hospitals and physician practices Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills Comfortable working with data, reports, and KPIs to inform strategy
