The Labor and Employee Relations Manager
is responsible for labor relations, union contracts, grievances, employee relations, compliance, compensation, and benefits, while advising senior leadership on CBA interpretation. The Manager will ensure legal compliance (labor laws) and drive organizational culture and HR metrics. Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop HR strategies aligned with company goals, advise executives on organizational design, and manage large-scale HR initiatives (mergers, reorganizations). Demonstrate a blend of operational experience with HR management, leadership, and change management. Apply emotional intelligence, servant leadership, adaptability, and empowerment to improve performance. Experience in leading HR efforts for a large property with a scalable workforce and culture. Employee/Labor Relations
Handle complex employee issues, grievances, investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations while fostering a positive environment. Oversee compensation structures, benefits programs, and payroll administration oversight. Compliance & Policy
Ensure adherence to federal/state labor laws (FLSA, FMLA, EEOC) and update/implement company policies and handbooks. HR Operations
Supervise HR staff, manage HR systems (HRIS), budgets, and HR metrics. HRIS Systems Analyst
Strong knowledge of HR software (ATS, HRIS), labor laws, and best practices. Organizational Design & Development
Design and develop educational training modules as needed. Contribute to the organization’s bottom line and build strong union partnerships. People Experience – Service Excellence / Engagement / Culture
Strong analytical skills with KPI identification and action planning. Build trust, foster a positive culture, empower the team, and prioritize team needs. Inspire through a shared vision and develop best-in-class values aligned with a strong organization. Design, execute, and measure reward and recognition programs with ROI considerations. Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred. Experience
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Labor Relations/Human Resources. Minimum of 3 years in the local market with labor relations across three or more collective bargaining units and a minimum employee base of 1500. Licenses & Certifications
