Job Description:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Underwriter to join our team. As a Senior Underwriter, you will be responsible for managing a $50M Construction line book of business. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced underwriter who possesses a strong background in construction underwriting and is looking for a challenging role with room for growth.
Responsibilities
Manage a $50M Construction line book of business, ensuring profitable growth and adherence to company guidelines and policies. Assess and analyze complex construction risks, evaluating potential exposures and determining appropriate pricing and coverage. Review applications, underwriting data, and loss control reports to make sound underwriting decisions. Collaborate with brokers and agents to provide underwriting expertise, address inquiries, and build strong relationships. Conduct risk assessments, negotiate terms, and prepare quotes, endorsements, and policy documentation. Monitor and analyze industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions to stay abreast of developments impacting construction underwriting. Mentor and provide guidance to junior underwriters, promoting knowledge sharing and professional growth. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Risk Management, Business Administration) or equivalent experience. Strong technical knowledge and expertise in construction underwriting, including various project types, coverages, and associated risks. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex information, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. Demonstrated experience managing a book of business and achieving profitable growth. Solid understanding of insurance policies, terms, and conditions, as well as industry regulations and compliance requirements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with brokers, agents, and internal stakeholders. Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office suite. Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or CRIS are highly desirable. Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
