A leading specialty insurance carrier is seeking a Senior Regional Underwriter – Large Casualty to drive underwriting strategy, production, and broker engagement within a defined territory. This is a high‑visibility role for an experienced underwriter who thrives in a relationship‑driven, analytical, and field‑focused environment.
About the Role This role involves underwriting and servicing multi-line large deductible accounts with a focus on profitability and growth.
Responsibilities
Underwrite and service multi-line large deductible accounts with a focus on profitability and growth
Produce new business and retain renewals through strong broker and client partnerships
Evaluate exposures, analyze loss histories, and structure data‑driven underwriting solutions
Collaborate with Actuarial, Claims, Legal, and Risk Services to deliver comprehensive offerings
Represent the underwriting organization in the field, presenting business cases and market insights
Participate in agency management, industry events, and mentorship of junior underwriters
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience in large deductible or national account underwriting and sales
Proven success in a field underwriting production environment
Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
Data‑driven mindset with strong business acumen
Professional designations (e.g., CPCU) are a plus
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Hybrid schedule required (3 days/week in the regional office)
