Urban Design Associates Ltd. is a design-driven architecture firm specializing in high-end custom homes and luxury residential estates. We are seeking a Senior Architectural Designer with 5–7 years of professional experience to join our Scottsdale studio and play a leadership role in the design and delivery of exceptional residential projects.
This position is ideal for an experienced designer who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys mentoring others, and is ready to take ownership of projects from concept through construction while working closely with the Principal.
What You’ll Do
Collaborate directly with the Principal on schematic design, design development, and construction documents
Generate and guide overall project design concepts for custom luxury residences
Provide design and technical leadership to project teams throughout all phases
Coordinate and oversee work with junior staff and engineering consultants
Serve as a mentor and resource for designers and interns across the studio
Lead material research, documentation, and specification development
Prepare and review project specifications and technical documentation
Attend construction meetings and perform periodic site observations as required by contract
Prepare zoning and building code analyses and support regulatory compliance
Assist with timely submittals to Authorities Having Jurisdiction
Act as secondary client contact, supporting primary project leadership
Maintain design quality, consistency, and technical excellence across projects
Deliver a WOW, 5-star experience for every client
What We’re Looking For
5–7 years of professional experience in a residential architecture office
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (construction documents required)
Strong working knowledge of Photoshop, SketchUp, and Lumion
Deep understanding of residential construction methods, detailing, and industry standards
Proven ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced, creative environment
Highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong follow-through
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative studio culture
Strong leadership mindset with a willingness to mentor and share knowledge
Adaptable to evolving tools, systems, and firm growth initiatives
Passion for design and awareness of current trends in luxury residential architecture
Arizona Licensed Architect or actively pursuing licensure
LEED accreditation preferred

Salary: $65,000–$85,000 annually (based on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, in-office (remote work on Fridays after waiting period)
