The Role

Raya is looking for an experienced and strategic Business Development Leader to own and scale our client acquisition efforts. This person will be responsible for generating new client relationships, converting warm and outbound opportunities, and building a repeatable revenue engine for executive and leadership search engagements.

This is a hands-on, revenue-carrying role for someone who understands how executive search works and has successfully brought in business before.

What You’ll Do

  • Source, develop, and close new client relationships for executive and leadership search engagements
  • Own the full BD lifecycle: prospecting, relationship building, pitch, close, and handoff
  • Leverage the existing network of founders, executives, investors, and HR leaders
  • Engage with founders, CEOs, CPOs, CTOs, CHROs, and Heads of People at high-growth tech companies
  • Identify hiring inflection points and position Raya as a trusted partner
  • Stay close to market trends in leadership hiring, AI, and executive talent
  • Work closely with the Founder and search team to align on target clients, positioning, and offerings
  • Help refine messaging, pitch materials, and go-to-market approach

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven track record of bringing in new clients, closing retained or container-style search engagements, and generating revenue
  • Experience selling to senior stakeholders (Founder, C-suite, Board level)
  • Prior experience in an executive search firm or a recruiting agency
  • Strong relationship builder with a credible executive presence
  • Comfortable with consultative, high-trust sales (not transactional selling)
  • Understands executive search economics, timelines, and client expectations
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and accountable
  • Entrepreneurial mindset; thrives in a small, fast-moving firm
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience in an executive search firm or a recruiting agency
  • Existing network in tech, AI, SaaS, or health tech
  • Experience working with VC-backed companies
