Job Overview Coastland Construction is looking to hire two experienced Construction Superintendents to lead day-to-day field operations on high-quality construction projects. As the lead field representative on site, the Superintendent is responsible for ensuring all work is executed safely, on time, within scope, and in full compliance with contract documents. This role directly oversees subcontractors, vendors, field staff, and site activities — serving as the backbone of Coastland’s commitment to. Serve as the on-site leader for all field activities on assigned projects.

Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, assistant superintendents, and field-level staff.

Maintain full ownership of daily jobsite safety, quality, organization, and productivity.

Safety Compliance & Accountability Conduct regular toolbox talks and enforce PPE compliance and OSHA safety standards.

Ensure timely incident reporting and thorough follow-up procedures.

Lead a culture of proactive safety management and accountability.

Scheduling & Coordination Develop and manage two-week look-ahead schedules.

Track progress on critical path activities and communicate updates to subcontractors and project managers.

Prevent delays by identifying schedule risks and implementing mitigation strategies.

Daily Reporting & Documentation Complete and submit detailed daily reports, including manpower counts, deliveries, and inspection logs.

Ensure documentation accuracy and timeliness in alignment with Coastland's procedures.

Provide daily communication to the Project Manager regarding manpower, schedule, quality, and safety.

Track and report employee hours and tasks performed for Coastland employees on site.

Quality Control Become fully familiar with the project’s plans, specifications, and contract documents, including general conditions.

Ensure subcontractor and vendor work complies with contract documents, drawings, and specifications.

Continuously verify that work in place meets Coastland’s standards and contract requirements; direct corrective action immediately when deficiencies are identified.

Use Procore Observations and Punch Lists to track and close deficiencies.

Coordinate mock-ups, first-work inspections, and all required testing with subcontractors and inspectors.

Ensure that all testing of materials is conducted as specified, with results recorded and submitted to the Project Manager.

Subcontractor Performance Hold subcontractors accountable to deadlines, safety, and quality standards.

Coordinate manpower needs for and elevate underperformance promptly.

Foster productive and respectful working relationships on site.

Material & Equipment Logistics Coordinate all deliveries and confirm proper handling by subcontractor teams.

Oversee site logistics including storage, equipment rentals, and special machinery use.

Track delivery documentation and maintain proactive planning for long-lead items.

Site Cleanliness & Presentation Enforce jobsite cleanliness standards, coordinating trash removal and site walkability.

Ensure the jobsite remains organized, safe, and presentable to clients and inspectors.

Team Feedback & Communication Participate in general discussions with leadership to provide feedback on site tools, scheduling platforms (e.g., Procore), and support needs.

Provide clear, constructive feedback to improve internal processes and project performance.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience as a Superintendent or in a comparable field leadership role.

Strong working knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, safety protocols, and field coordination.

Proficient in project documentation and reporting tools (Procore experience a plus).

Excellent communication and leadership skills with a hands-on, lead-by-example approach.

Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and schedules.

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).

A background check will be completed as part of the onboarding process, in compliance with applicable laws.
