Jan 27, 2026 The Department of Marketing in the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business at Clemson University invites applications for two (2) full-time, nine-month, non-tenure-track, in-person Lecturer positions. The compensation package includes state benefits (including health and dental insurance, retirement) and a nine-month starting salary of $75,000. Opportunities for additional compensation through summer or overload teaching may be available. Lecturers who meet performance expectations are eligible for promotion to Senior Lecturer after five years of service and Principal Lecturer after an additional five years of service. The positions are term-limited and renewable annually, based on performance and funding availability. The preferred start date is August 15, 2026, but later start dates will be considered.
Responsibilities Lecturer responsibilities include teaching (90%) and service (10%). A typical teaching load is four in-person undergraduate courses each full semester (fall and spring), with two to three different courses (preps) per year. Immediate teaching needs are expected to include Social Media Marketing, Digital Marketing, Consumer Behavior, and Marketing Metrics, but top applicants will demonstrate a willingness and ability to teach a variety of marketing courses, including Principles of Marketing, Services Marketing, Advertising and Promotional Strategy, and other classes aligned with their areas of expertise. There may also be opportunities to teach graduate or online courses. Lecturers are expected to make service contributions at the department, college, and/or university levels by serving on committees and supporting strategic programs or initiatives.
Qualifications Applicants must have at least a master\'s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a closely related field. Preference will be given to applicants with relevant industry or teaching experience. Applicants should demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching, strong communication skills, and a willingness to teach a variety of marketing courses.
