What you will do In this vital role you will be the connection to our customers by providing clinical knowledge of our products to medical professionals and helping them navigate the complex payer environment. Our US Commercial Operations (USCO) supports a global enterprise while maintaining entrepreneurial spirit. This District Sales Manager role offers challenging assignments and opportunities for career development.
This position requires strong collaboration across functions with other Amgen business units, including District Sales Managers, Regional Sales Directors, and Corporate Account Managers.
Responsibilities
Track the progress of marketing messages and programs
Provide feedback to district teams on marketing, allocation, monitoring, and leveraging of internal and external resources
Manage district teams to maximize performance and achieve/exceed sales and budget targets
Screen, interview, and hire candidates
Ensure compliance with training
Coach and counsel individuals for future development
Conduct annual and ongoing performance reviews and competency assessments
Communicate and coordinate with district and cross-functional teams (e.g., Marketing, Finance, other Business Units)
Share best practices with direct reports and peers
Coordinate and/or participate in cluster teams
Conduct district sales meetings to guide districts
Develop local Opinion Leader relationships to achieve aligned objectives
Minimum Education / Qualifications
High School/GED
2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation of resources
And one of the following combinations of education and sales/marketing experience:
Doctorate + 2 years
Master’s + 6 years
Bachelor’s + 8 years
Associate’s + 10 years
High school diploma/GED + 12 years
Preferred Qualifications
Three or more years of specialty sales experience
Experience in biologics
Buy and bill model experience
Strong coaching skills to recognize and promote success, diagnose and address suboptimal behaviors
Ability to leverage market and customer knowledge to target messages, resources, and activities within the territory
Knowledge of local payor coverage and ability to articulate clinical concepts, data, and conclusions
Ability to address customer questions and objections with clinical information
Ability to recruit candidates meeting minimum criteria and to interview/hire sales representatives
Strong sense of responsibility, self-discipline, and ability to set short- and long-term objectives
Effective communication and collaboration with sales staff and cross-functional teams

Salary Range: 183,309.00 USD - 217,671.00 USD
