
**This role is fully remote with limited travel throughout Ohio (once or twice annually)**
The Compliance Specialist ensures full compliance with federal, state, and program regulations for LIHTC properties. This role partners closely with property teams to maintain resident file accuracy, audit readiness, and ongoing compliance support.
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with LIHTC Section 42, Fair Housing, and company policies
Review resident applications for eligibility and completeness
Conduct LIHTC file reviews and prepare required agency reporting
Prepare and maintain rent schedules, income limits, and utility allowances
Track and implement Utility Allowances
Support internal, external, and onsite audits or inspections
Monitor state agency guidance to ensure current forms and policies are used
Provide training and compliance support to property teams as needed
Qualifications
Affordable housing experience; HCCP preferred
Strong knowledge of LIHTC, HUD, TRACS, and EIV
Experience with layered financing, non-compliance correction, and IRS Form 8823
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Highly organized with strong communication and problem-solving skills
High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality
