Job Description:

Human-Centered Design Lead

AdventHealth IT is seeking an experienced design thinker to lead through influence, education, and example. This role guides how human-centered thinking shows up across AIT by educating teams, presenting to leaders, and partnering on high-impact, strategic IT initiatives. The Human-Centered Design Lead blends thought leadership and hands-on practice to embed human-centered design into everyday work as a shared capability, not a checkpoint.

Core Job Functions

Human-Centered Design Education & Training

Design and deliver human-centered design education through presentations, learning tracks, and workshops tailored to executives, project leaders, and individual contributors.

Develop both self-guided and HCD-team-led learning experiences that build shared language, confidence, and practical application.

Applied Human-Centered Research & Practice

Conduct and model human-centered research methods such as interviews, observation, journey mapping, and synthesis to demonstrate real-world application.

Help teams understand user needs, pain points, and opportunities and connect insights directly to project decisions.

Coach teams on iterative testing and outcome-driven design without taking ownership of their projects.

Scalable Enablement & Support Model

Provide self-serve resources including templates, checklists, guidelines, and maturity tools.

Lead embedded support for select high-priority or flagship initiatives where deeper guidance is needed.

Equip leaders with key questions and frameworks to assess maturity, user insight depth, and experience outcomes.

Culture, Mindset, & Practice Advancement

Champion the AIT Guiding Principle of being Human-Centered by helping teams anticipate and respond to people’s needs through user input and experience-driven decisions.
