Job Description:

Responsible for directing the Reimbursement Department's financial analysis and reimbursement activities. This position includes preparation and filing of annual Medicare, Medicaid, and Champus/Tricare cost reports. Additionally, this role involves preparation of reopening and appeal papers, audit preparation, and other cost report settlement activities and related analysis for third-party financial statement reporting. In addition, this position collaborates with management on reimbursement regulations and the regulatory, operational, and financial impacts of proposed operational decisions. Serves as a subject matter resource for Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement matters.

Monitors changes affecting hospital reimbursement of Medicare bad debt, graduate medical education, disproportionate share hospital adjustment, and uncompensated care payments.

Prepares and files annual Medicare, Medicaid, and Champus/Tricare cost reports.

Prepares reopening and appeal papers, audit preparation, and other cost report settlement activities.

Conducts financial analysis and modeling to determine financial and reimbursement implications of business transactions and regulatory changes.

Communicates technical positions and arguments effectively to Medicare, Medicaid, and other State or Federal agencies’ auditors.

Supports positions taken on the hospital cost report or other required reporting. Reviews Medicare and Medicaid Uniform Contractual Worksheet-Third Party Settlement (UCW-TPS) templates of each hospital.

Education:

• Bachelor's [Required]

• Master's [Preferred]

Work Experience:

• 10+ relevant experience in healthcare reimbursement including medicare, medicaid reimbursement and regulatory cost reporting [Required]

• 5+ proven leadership skills in management role [Required]

• Strong background in accounting and financial analysis [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$146,405.57 - $272,307.13
