
Senior Estimator

EthosEnergy is currently seeking a Senior Estimator for our Santa Fe Springs, CA location. The Candidate must have at least 15 years' experience working in industrial maintenance or have related experience estimating. The candidate will be responsible for preparing and coordinating the preparation of proposals (either firm price or time and material) from conception to completion of industrial equipment. This includes estimating steam and/or gas turbines, reciprocating compressors and pumps of all sizes. You must also be willing to travel for short times to be present at job walks with potential customers. This could be either driving long distances or flying to location.
Job Responsibilities
Reviews and evaluates Requests for Estimates. Prepares estimates and ensures timely completion of estimates and provides job tasks broken down by hours per task. Reviews estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy. Navigate through job folders and proposal templates. Reviews requests for estimate documents and understands scope of work to estimate. Obtains pricing for materials and labor from subcontractors Have the ability to evaluate subcontractor costs and review for completeness. Where predetermined standard(s) are not available, makes an estimate based on experience and seeking input. Informs immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer databases. NONESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Understands and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc. Attends departmental meetings, as required. Required Skills / Knowledge
Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage and to draw and interpret graphs. Computer Skills To perform the job successfully, an individual should be proficient with estimating and spreadsheet software and should have knowledge of word processing software, e-mail and the use of the Internet.
