Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented
Junior Estimator
to support cost estimating activities for projects in New York. This position assists in preparing detailed construction cost estimates across multiple project phases and supports negotiations, reviews, and cost evaluations related to design and construction documents.
Responsibilities
Ensures the preparation of detailed cost estimates for all phases of design and construction
Supervises the development of quantity surveys and cost evaluations relating to design documents, contract drawings, specifications or contract changes
Reviews and reports on contract estimates prepared by private consultants and recommends if estimate is appropriate for implementation
Participates in cost negotiations
Plans, assigns, and reviews the cost estimating work
Performs related tasks
Qualifications Experience & Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental Services or a related field
3 years full time, technical experience in estimating areas of architecture, electrical, mechanical or plumbing
Or equivalent combination ofeducation and experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
Ability to obtain and scope trade contractor budget proposals
Understanding of Contract Document and Specifications
Strong writtenand verbal skills
Ability to work in a team-based environment
