Summary Objective The purpose of this position is to communicate and coordinate strategies and priorities to achieve technology goals and objectives, assess existing and proposed systems, and formulate scope and objectives of information systems projects. Facilitates relationships between the technology department and other Louisville Metro Government departments through strategic planning, communications, and an in-depth understanding of both the departments’ business objectives and technology service offerings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.

Manages large-scale technology projects or programs that have high risk, high cost and or high visibility in the organization.

Facilitates the development of business requirements to ensure technical solutions meet business needs.

Develops strategies and priorities to ensure the maximum utilization of available computer and network resources toward efficient and effective information processing to achieve goals and objectives and future needs.

Manages the project portfolio of the technology department through inter-departmental project phases.

Analyzes customer business processes and recommends technical solutions to gain efficiencies or drive improvements.

Serves as liaison between the technology department and outside departments.

Attends meetings and represents the department to plan and design technology and information system initiatives and to obtain and provide information.

Evaluates and responds to customer needs through service reviews, feedback and service-level monitoring.

Validates business impact of completed projects.

Identifies and communicates with executive level project sponsors and various stakeholders.

Performs related work as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Information Systems, Information Technology, Business or Public Administration or related discipline.

Four (4) years of facilitation, troubleshooting, technology-related conflict resolution, design, and tech planning or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Must submit to fingerprinting for criminal history check.

Must complete the annual security awareness training.

Must provide one’s own source of transportation.

Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.

Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.

UNAVOIDABLE HAZARDS (WORK ENVIRONMENT) Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.
