The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for full time Cybersecurity Policy Analyst, (GG-2210-13), at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.
This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) position aligned under authorities of Section 1601, Chapter 83 of Title 10, United States Code and DoD Instruction 1400.25-V2007.
Salary ($132,751- $181,428) based on experience. Up to 20% telework

This is a rare opportunity to join the new HAF A6 directorate and build the future of Air Force cyber. You will be responsible for developing policy and program guidance for high-priority cyber programs and advise senior leaders on initiatives such as Mission Relevant Terrain Cyber, encryption, and zero-trust platforms. Your work will directly impact warfighter cyber operations to ensure mission capabilities, planning, and execution throughout the Air Force.
Primary purpose To serve as an information technology (IT) Communications Policy Specialist. This position provides policy, program oversight, planning, programming, budgeting, and execution (PPBE) guidance to ensure USAF Cyberspace Operations and Warfighter Communications is aligned with the USAF and SAF/CN vision and strategy, including statutory and Department of Defense (DoD) requirements, and is incorporated into all USAF publications. The incumbent is involved in policy development and/or establishment of policy by either taking the high-level policy and adapting USAF policy or by recommending and developing new USAF policies based on new and emerging threats and technologies.

Qualifications / Requirements

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Security Clearance.
Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
Knowledge of operational and performance characteristics of cyberspace to modify and implement procedures, policies, practices for USAF wide use as well as knowledge of performance characteristics of cyberspace equipment, systems, services, and transmission media to evaluate new proposals, and approaches.
Knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) concepts functions, techniques and capabilities sufficient to understanding interrelationships of Joint and Air Force wide communications and weapons system to the agency’s RF architecture as well as new emerging RF developments and applications.
Knowledge of wide range of cyberspace theories, concepts, principles, practices, procedures, policies standards, and operations requirements to relate to user requirements.
Knowledge of Federal, DoD and USAF laws, regulations policies, and guidance concerning communications and USAF program oversight.
Skill in planning and adjusting work operations to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
Ability to gather facts and effectively use analytical and evaluative methods to accurately assess information and make sound problem-solving decisions. Ability to synthesize large amounts of complex data into meaningful insights and conclusions.
