Job Title: Graphic Designer • Job Duration: 6 months on W2 • Job Location: Remote (Working on EST)
About the Role Our client is seeking a Temporary Freelance Graphic Designer to support Women’s mainline apparel during a maternity leave coverage period. This role partners closely with design and merchandising teams to create original, brand-forward graphics across seasonal assortments and **** collaborations.
This position requires a highly capable, self-directed designer who can work independently, manage multiple workstreams, and support graphic and product design needs in close partnership with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Apparel & Graphic Design
Design and develop original, trend-relevant apparel graphics for ***** Women’s across mainline seasonal assortments and ***** collaboration projects.
Translate seasonal concepts informed by merchant roadmaps, cost targets, and consumer insights into compelling graphic solutions.
Own graphic execution across Women’s apparel categories, including knits, active, wovens, outerwear, denim, sleep, lounge and specialty classifications.
Apply graphic trend research to identify opportunities for innovation in design techniques and visual storytelling.
Design branded trims and graphic details, including woven labels and applied hardware.
Partner closely with Production teams and vendors to ensure design intent, quality, and execution integrity throughout development and production, including sample review.
Collaborations & Specialty Projects
Partner with internal **** teams and external collaboration partners to co-create custom product, translating partner vision and brand identity into original, customer-relevant apparel graphics that align with **** brand standards.
Support **** collaboration projects across apparel categories, balancing creative vision, brand integrity, cost considerations, and delivery timelines.
Incorporate feedback and direction from senior leadership and cross-functional partners to refine concepts and ensure successful execution throughout the design process.
Workflow
Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Merchandising, Production, and Digital Product Creation (DPC) teams to support seasonal milestones and deliver production-ready artwork.
Maintain presentation boards and materials for key milestone and review meetings.
Support international, licensing, and print-on-demand initiatives as needed.
Ways of Working
Manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong time management and prioritization skills.
Work quickly and efficiently while maintaining a high standard of creative quality and accuracy.
Adapt to the needs of different teams, timelines, and creative partners.
Apply working knowledge of AI and emerging digital tools thoughtfully to ideation and workflow efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills
Proven experience in fashion or apparel design with a strong focus on apparel graphics.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and own projects end-to-end.
Experience collaborating with vendors and cross-functional partners.
Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; familiarity with tools such as Miro or CLO a plus.
Ability to clearly communicate creative intent through visuals and presentations.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
