Overview

The Senior Product Designer will play a critical role in shaping the end-to-end user experience across mobile and desktop platforms. This role partners closely with product, technology, and external agencies to evolve Android and iOS app experiences, ensure seamless design handoffs, and elevate direct‑to‑consumer (DTC) user flows. The designer will align app experiences with the evolving design system while driving consistency across platforms and collaborating with brand, marketing, and editorial design teams to deliver a cohesive, high-quality user experience. This role combines strong product thinking, systems‑level design, and cross‑functional collaboration to support overall growth and engagement goals.

Responsibilities

Partner with external vendors and internal teams on Android and iOS app design

Ensure smooth design handoffs from external vendors to internal product and technology teams, maintaining continuity and quality

Lead improvements to DTC user flows across app experiences to drive clarity, engagement, and conversion

Align app experiences with the evolving design system, contributing patterns and feedback as needed

Drive consistency and cohesion across mobile and desktop platforms

Collaborate closely with brand, marketing, and editorial designers to deliver a unified, cohesive user experience

Skills and Requirements

3–5+ years of experience in product design, UX/UI design, or interaction design for digital products

Strong portfolio showcasing end‑to‑end product design work, including user flows, interaction design, and systems‑based thinking

Strong sense of design best practices, integrating UX research and building meaningful customer experiences

Proven experience designing consumer‑facing mobile apps (iOS and Android)

Experience in product discovery and design thinking

Excellent communication and presentation capabilities, articulating ideas effectively and without bias

High energy level and strong work ethic; self‑driven

Systems‑thinking mindset, with deep knowledge of cross‑platform design, visual system creation, and effective implementation

Prioritization and multi‑tasking skills

Ability to hold teams accountable for high‑quality product design and timely cross‑functional communication

Experience working within cross‑functional product teams, partnering closely with product management, engineering, and content teams

Demonstrated experience collaborating with external agencies or vendors and managing design handoffs

Experience contributing to or evolving a design system across platforms and devices

Strong interest in news vertical and passion for journalism

Experience with AI-assisted or rapid prototyping tools

Understanding of OTT, connected TV, and cross‑platform video product design
