divh2Administrative Assistant/h2pThe Administrative Assistant for the Recreation Department Community Affairs and Marketing Division assists the Division Chief and coordinators by performing complex administrative and clerical duties. Responsible for working with division recreation specialist in execution of Culture, Arts and Pride Commission (CAP) initiatives, as well as assisting with community events, departmental marketing, and sponsorship efforts./ppEssential Job Functions:/pulliAssist with various administrative functions of the Recreation Departments marketing, community events, sponsorship, and cultural activities./liliAssist with the creation and distribution of various applications and communications related to the Culture, Arts and Pride Commission (CAP), events, marketing, and sponsorship./liliAssist with implementation of various CAP projects, programs, and meetings./liliAssist with writing reports, letters, forms, purchase order and credit card authorization requests, and other written correspondence./liliAssist in the production and distribution of event signage, flyers, certificates, invitations, and other promotional materials./liliAssist in answering general inquiries related to parks, permits, events and other information and schedule quarterly meetings with Memorial Waterfront Park management partners and staff./liliSupport recordkeeping and permit processing functions by maintaining and updating files, performing word processing, and computer data entry./liliAssist with special projects as needed./liliPerforms other duties as required./li/ulpMinimum Requirements to Perform Work:/pulliEducation and Experience: Associate degree and one to three (1-3) years of work experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job./liliValid South Carolina Drivers License./liliOr any equivalent combination of education and experience./liliFirst Aid/CPR, AED and Darkness to Light certifications/training are required within one year of employment./li/ulpKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:/pulliKnowledge of department practices and services provided./liliKnowledge of office procedures and machines./liliSkill in the use of oral and written communication./liliSkill in data processing and being well organized./liliSkill in the use of personal computers and office software including word processing, database, internet and spreadsheet applications./liliSkill in the use of mathematics./liliAbility to manage multiple tasks in a detailed and effective manner./liliAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, volunteers, and other community members; ability to maintain confidential information./liliAbility to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing./liliAbility to meet and deal with Town employees, officials and the public effectively and in a tactful manner./liliGraphic design and basic web editing experience preferred./li/ulpPhysical Requirements:/pulliWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear./liliSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, usage of computers and reading./liliThis position requires substantial repetitive motion of wrists, hands, and fingers./liliThe employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, grasp or feel; and reach with hands and arms./liliThe employee consistently maintains balance either sitting, standing or walking and is occasionally required to stoop or crouch./liliThe employee may occasionally push, pull or lift and move objects up to 20 pounds./li/ulpWork Environment:/pulliThe work environment involves everyday discomforts typical of offices, with occasional exposure to outside elements./liliNoise or physical surroundings may be distracting, but conditions are generally not unpleasant./liliEmployee may be required to work beyond normal business hours for events or in response to natural disasters and emergencies./li/ul/div
