Drafting Designer Job Description: • Reviews rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from engineering staff. • Interprets engineering data to effectively and efficiently complete assigned tasks. • Complete detailed drawings from sketches, specifications, and written/verbal instructions using computer-aided drafting programs (Siemens NX). • Participate with other team members in generating and executing designs, project plans, estimates and schedules. • Detail and document designs via models/drawings (Siemens NX) under direction of an engineer. • Develops detailed drawings of machine jigs, fixtures, and part protection. • Interact with internal and external suppliers to procure, deliver, and implement hardware and equipment. • Works cooperatively with other CAD technicians and/or engineers to complete assigned work. • Proactively seeks input and clarification from other employees assigned to given project to minimize time spent in performing the essential duties of the position. • Check assigned work to ensure accuracy and quality. Specific Tasks: • Detailing and modeling of mechanical parts, assemblies, and detailed drawings in Siemens NX. • Issuing and navigating drawings into a vault system (Teamcenter).
