Overview
The Assistant Golf Professional is an integral member of the golf operations team, supporting the Head Golf Professional in delivering an exceptional experience for the Club's members and guests. This position is ideal for an early-career PGA Associate seeking hands-on experience, mentorship, and professional development within a high-quality private club environment.
Professional Development Focus This role is designed to support PGA Associates actively pursuing Class A membership or anyone who is looking to be a integral part of our Golf Professional Staff. The Club is committed to providing:
Mentorship from experienced PGA Professionals
Exposure to all aspects of private club golf operations
Opportunities to fulfill PGA PGM requirements through daily responsibilities
Support for teaching development, tournament administration, and leadership growth
Experience Required
PGA of America Associate enrolled in the PGA PGM Program (preferred) or Class A Member
Strong desire to learn and grow within the golf industry
Basic knowledge of the Rules of Golf and tournament operations
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Professional appearance, attitude, and work ethic
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and special events
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to lift and move golf bags, merchandise, and event equipment
Essential Responsibilities Member Services & Golf Operations
Deliver personalized, high-touch service consistent with private club standards
Assist with daily golf shop operations including tee times, member check-ins, and POS transactions
Maintain a professional presence on the golf course to support member satisfaction
Assist our outside operations manager with completing tasks and daily duties
Tournaments, Events & Programs
Assist in planning and executing member tournaments, and day to day member events
Gain hands-on experience with Men's, Women's, and Junior golf programs
Assist in the successful execution of our marquee events throughout the year
Instruction & Player Development
Provide private and group golf instruction under the guidance of senior professionals
Assist with clinics, junior golf programs, and player development initiatives
Actively promote lesson programs and build a personal teaching portfolio
Merchandising & Retail Experience
Assist with merchandising, inventory control, and vendor relations
Learn best practices in retail buying, visual merchandising, and sales strategy
Provide knowledgeable equipment and apparel recommendations to members
Administration & Leadership Development
Assist with staff training, supervision, and daily operational leadership
Support handicap administration, score posting, and member communications
Develop organizational, communication, and leadership skills in a team-oriented setting
Benefits
Seasonal Full Time Assistant Golf Professional - April 1st - November 15
$19.00 - $21.00 per hour plus overtime
