
Recreation Specialist I

Assist with planning and promoting recreation programs.
Supervise youth activities.
Enhance lives and community by providing exceptional experiences.
Experience and Training
One season of experience in the subject area is desirable.
License or Certificate
Possession of or ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certificates within six months of hire.

Selection Process All candidates meeting the minimum qualifications will have their application scored in a Formula Rate Examination. Supplemental questions will be utilized by the department hiring authority to make interview and selection determinations. Final appointment is contingent upon a check of past employment references, passing a City‑paid fingerprint check, and depending on the position applied for, a pre‑employment medical exam, drug and alcohol screening test, credit check, license and/or education verification, psychological examination, and/or an extensive Police Department background check process. The City may appoint candidates prior to clearing the extensive Police Department background check, but security access to non‑PD related systems will be limited until PD clearance is received.
